Advocacy Day - May 16th

Are you feeling frustrated by all the proposed spending cuts to programs you work in or for the children and families you serve? Join us in Salem on Tuesday, May 16th for ONE Voice for Child Care Advocacy Day.  Learn how the legislative process works, join small teams to speak with legislators about funding for early childhood and other issues that concern you.
More details and registration link.

Can't make it to Salem, but want your voice heard?

Join the call-in or twitter storm on Monday, May 15 and Tuesday, May 16th.

Twitter Storm: To advocate for adequate revenue for Oregon’s children, we encourage you to join a May 15 Twitterstorm with the hashtag: #kidsneed. Follow with your own description of
what Oregon’s children need.

Call and email Messages: early learning opportunities for our most vulnerable children are underfunded, with 70% or more children without access across early childhood services. We should be talking about expansion, not cuts, to critical early childhood services. Each piece is a critical part of a system to meet the needs of kids and families.

Find your legislator on-line by going to  Legislative website and entering your home address.   Send an email or make a call.

Need help with what to say?
Hello. I am (legislator's name) constituent. Please maintain full funding for early childhood programs and services that help keep Oregon's young children healthy and prepares them for school.

I support (choose programs of interest to you and say why ): Preschool Promise, Healthy Families Oregon, the Kindergarten Partnership Fund, Early Learning Hubs, Employment Related Day Care, Culturally Specific Early Learning, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, and/or Oregon Head Start.
Conclude with :

We need to find sustainable budget solutions that honor Oregon's values, not squander our most vulnerable children's potential.

Thank you.
